When your afternoon includes a surprise DM from Kane Brown, you know it’s a good day. I had just watched Kane and Katelyn on the Today Show talking about their new Lifetime movie when Kane messaged to gently call out that my guys on the station totally butchered our Disney code word on air. From there, our conversation turned into the most fun catch‑up about movies, music, family, and football.

Kane and Katelyn executive-produced the new Lifetime movie Thank God Christmas at Keller Ranch, which is inspired by their hit "Thank God." Lifetime originally wanted them in the film, but Katelyn laughed that she wasn’t sure about her acting skills yet, so they decided to stay behind the scenes this time. They didn’t make it to set in Canada because of their crazy schedules, but they were thrilled with how the cast, including Ariel, brought the story and the song’s spirit to life. By the end of our chat, I was fully campaigning for them to star in a Christmas movie next year, and even Katelyn admitted she feels ready now.

Of course, I had to ask Kane what 2026 looks like. He told me he’s stepping back from a full tour run and just doing select festivals so he can give the crew stability while taking a real breather after being on the road nonstop since 2016. The upside for fans: more time to create, and he teased a brand‑new single coming around Valentine’s Day that I got to hear about first. The song is all about friends wanting him to hit the bars and chase girls, but he’s already happily taken—very on‑brand for a guy who clearly adores his wife.

We also geeked out over their Architectural Digest feature, because their home is stunning. Kane gave all the design credit to Katelyn, and she lit up talking about how interior design has become a huge passion—starting with their tour bus, then renovations on their first home, and now their current house, which manages to be chic and cozy at the same time. Being featured by AD, which she called the “gods of interior design,” felt like a dream moment after years of honing her style and confidence.

Another big part of our conversation was St. Jude. Kane has been visiting the Nashville hospital and donating for years, and he was genuinely surprised (in a good way) to hear that two of his songs, “Backseat Driver” and “Thank God,” are being used as story songs in our St. Jude Radiothon. Both he and Katelyn talked about how special it is to see the country community rally around St. Jude through visits, liners, and benefit shows, especially now that they’re parents of three young kids.

And because it’s us, we had to talk about football and holidays. We laughed about the chaos of this NFL season, my struggling Eagles, and Kane’s love for the Chiefs and the Georgia‑stacked Eagles defense, especially Jordan Davis’ big game. Kane also shared how he became friends with Patrick Mahomes and Dak Prescott after people kept saying they all look alike, and now he’s one of a small group who gets Mahomes’ shoes sent directly to him. This Christmas, they’re staying in Nashville with Katelyn’s family coming down—some relatives visiting the house for the first time—so it will be a full, cozy holiday at home before a new year of music, movies, and whatever Kane and Katelyn dream up next.
