The Boston weekend events in December 2025 are alive with holiday cheer, offering family-friendly concerts, lavish light displays, and community-wide festivities throughout the city. In addition to Boston's Winter Fest and Fenway's Holiday Market and Celebration, thousands of festive programs, events, and businesses provide residents and visitors with countless ways to celebrate the joyous season.

"Holiday Pops Kids' Matinees"

  • What: A festive, kid-friendly orchestral holiday celebration.
  • When: Saturday, Dec. 13, and Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. (additional dates available through Dec. 24, 2025)
  • Where: Symphony Hall, 301 Massachusetts Ave., Boston
  • Cost: Tickets start at $91

"Holiday Pops Kids' Matinees" are shortened, family-friendly concerts created especially for young audiences. These lively performances run about 70 minutes with no intermission, making them ideal for children. Following the musical portion of the program, children can enjoy festive treats and visit with Santa Claus to add to the magic of the season.

Boston's Winter Fest

  • What: A glowing, cozy winter wonderland
  • When: Friday, Dec. 12 through Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (additional dates available through Dec. 30, 2025)
  • Where: The Yard Charlestown, 100 Hood Park Drive, Boston
  • Cost: General Admission $5, Santa Meet & Greet (admission not included) $35

Boston's Winter Fest at The Yard in Charlestown transforms the season into a glowing holiday escape. Stroll through dazzling light displays, warm up in cozy ski gondolas, and enjoy the comforting scent of cocoa as you explore. The Winter Market Village showcases artisans from the surrounding area and offers several interactive activities to enhance the festive experience. The Winter Market Village is a great gathering spot for friends or a family outing, offering an enjoyable way to celebrate the holidays in downtown Boston.

Holiday Market and Party

  • What: A festive neighborhood market celebrating local vendors
