Winter Skate Opens Friday at Patriot Place With Celebration, Coat Drive

Outdoor Winter Skate returns to Patriot Place for its 14th season with a grand opening celebration on Friday, Dec. 12, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. This event will feature music, entertainment, giveaways, hot chocolate, and seasonal treats.

Members of the public will find the rink located at the South Marketplace, opposite Trader Joe's and Restoration Hardware Outlet. This space offers a skating path, lights, an observation deck, skate rentals, concessions, bathrooms, and free parking.

The ice surface will be professionally maintained for all skill levels, with an observation deck for nonskaters. Skate rentals, concessions, bathrooms, and free parking are available.

Skating will be available through late February. Public sessions will be held Monday through Thursday, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday and all school holidays, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Skating will be unavailable during New England Patriots home games. Hours may also vary due to weather, holidays, Gillette Stadium events, or private events.

A WickedLocal.com news report noted that Patriot Place Advantage App members can skate for $10 for adults, $7 for children 12 and younger, and adults 65 and older. Nonmembers pay $12 for adults and $8 for children and older adults. Skate rentals are $3 for app members and $6 for nonmembers. Season passes will be available for purchase on site.

According to a Patch of Foxborough report, participants in public skating are invited to donate new or gently used coats, hats, and gloves to Cradles to Crayons to support winter essentials for families in need.
