Massachusetts education officials honored 63 schools from across the Commonwealth during a ceremony at the State House on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

The schools received recognition for substantial student achievement, growth, and positive educational practices.

Fifty-five were named Schools of Recognition, along with six National Blue Ribbon School nominees and two National Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Distinguished Schools.

Education Secretary Dr. Patrick Tutwiler highlighted the hard work behind the schools' achievements.

“I'm so proud and grateful for the hard work, passion, and dedication coming from these schools that are being recognized today,” Tutwiler said in a statement shared with WWLP-22News. “They reflect what's possible when our educators, students, families, and communities work together with high expectations and a shared commitment to success.”
