No blizzard could get in the way of love for Maddie McNamara and Drew Baker. When their planned wedding venue, the Boston Public Library, closed on Monday, Feb. 23, the couple decided to elope at the Newbury Hotel.

Photographer Chris Graham braved the winter weather to trek to the hotel, where, after a five-minute ceremony, the newlyweds headed outside to make some snow memories.

"They went into the Common and frolicked around there, threw snowballs at each other. Jumped in the snow laying on their on their backs like snow angel style. It was just, I've never seen couples like let loose like that before," Graham said in a statement shared with CBS Boston WBZ-TV. "A lot of brides, they're stressed on their wedding day, you know? And I've never seen anybody as not stressed as they were. It was amazing."

Boston continues to dig out after the blizzard pummeled the city with 17.1 inches of snow, according to CBS Boston.

Other parts of Massachusetts received even more snow. In the southeastern part of the state, some communities were crushed with more than 3 feet of snow. More than 200,000 customers in Massachusetts were without power as of Tuesday evening, Feb. 24. Utility provider Eversource said full restoration will likely take several days.
