Irish eyes will be smiling in Worcester for the 44th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. The parade, which typically runs for 90 minutes to two hours, will feature marching bands, floats, and community groups celebrating local culture and Irish traditions. It starts at noon and travels along Park Avenue in Worcester from Mill Street toward Highland Street.
According to The Shrewsbury Post, viewing areas are busiest on Park Avenue between Chandler and Highland near Elm Park. Organizers advise attendees to park on side streets and avoid blocking fire hydrants, driveways, or roadways. A shuttle service will operate from Doherty High School every 20 minutes between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., dropping off participants at Mill Swan School and returning them to the parade starting spot.
Organizers noted that portable restrooms will be available at staging areas and along the route. Additional restroom facilities will be at CVS, Walgreens, and nearby auto shops.
Participants should arrive between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Vehicles or floats should arrive by 10 a.m. Organizers urge participants to consider carpooling or drop-offs to ease congestion at the staging area.
For those who can't view the parade in person, it will be broadcast on Spectrum channels 1 and 776 and streamed via the Spectrum News app.
More information about the event is available on the parade's website.
