The premiere of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island on Thursday, April 2, led to dozens of watch parties held across the state.

NBC 10 NEWS WJAR noted that one of the largest watch parties took place at Snookers Sports Bar in Providence. Local food influencer Laura Afonso of Buns and Bites united fans of The Real Housewives series and first-time viewers.

“I'm really excited to see the girls, like, in their element and really putting Rhode Island on this big national platform,” she said to NBC 10.

NBC 10 also spoke with several attendees who said the watch party was more than just waiting for another premiere. They were excited to see Rhode Island featured in the production.

In Cranston, several cast members of the show — including Liz McGraw, Kelsey Swanson, and Jo-Ellen Tiberi — crashed Rep. Seth Magaziner's watch party.

“We're excited. We're nervous. It's been like a long time coming,” said Swanson to NBC 10.

“You are going to see the most beautiful landscape of Rhode Island. Everybody's going to want to come to Rhode Island. It's a postcard,” McGraw stated.

Magaziner felt the exposure The Real Housewives of Rhode Island provides could boost tourism and bring attention to the charms of the Ocean State.

You can catch The Real Housewives of Rhode Island every Sunday at 9 p.m. on Bravo. Viewers can also stream the latest episodes on Peacock.
