At the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles Monday night (September 12), stars, writers and producers arrived in style for the 74th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Some ultimately flopped, fashion-wise. Meanwhile, others brought a new level of class and sophistication to the red carpet. There will be many losers and only a few winners tonight, and the same goes for the red carpet attendees.
See below our ranking of the 2022 Emmys red carpet from worst to best:
Ariel Dumas and Andrew Ecker
ShareThe Late Show with Stephen Colbert writer and her date became walking pastel disco balls that seem to be competing for "Most Shiny" on the red carpet.
Emily Heller
ShareThe late show writers seem to be in competition for who looks most ridiculous, and Heller thought the "Kick Me!" sign on the back of her dress was a funny move but it comes off as extremely corny.
Reece Feldman
ShareThe actor looks a little too nerdy to look cool with those flats.
Jerrod Carmichael
ShareJerrod Carmichael lost his shirt and opted for a long, fur vest instead. With his white underwear peaking through, we have no choice but to dub this outfit as trashy.
Nicole Byer
ShareThough Nicole Byer's face and hair look flawless, her outfit falls flat and lacks some much-needed accessories.
Sarah Paulson
ShareA big miss for Sarah Paulson. We hate this cut of the actress' boxy top, peplum skirt and beaded belt.
Linda Morel
ShareThe producer looked like an angsty orchestra conductor.
Harvey Guillén
ShareThe actor's silhouette looks much too boxy and makes him look much bigger than he is.
Natasha Rothwell
ShareNatasha Rothwell picked a great color for her gown, but unfortunately the puffiness of it all does nothing for her figure.
Jasmin Savoy Brown
ShareThe Yellowjackets actress wore a cutout leather dress with golden accents.
Laura Linney
ShareWe are crying that the Ozark star opted for a very boring and unflattering silhouette that her character would wear on a political campaign.
Kaley Cuoco
ShareKaley Cuoco's dress looks as if it was buzzed off in the front, giving it a mullet look.
Colman Domingo
ShareThe Euphoria actor looks like a walking Emmy himself with all that is going on here with his outfit.
Britt Lower
ShareThe actress attempted an edgy look, but the pattern of her gown is just too close to that of a curtain.
Sydney Sweeney
ShareThe Euphoria actress' dress fell flat with this curtain-like pattern... We didn't need more of the fabric as a train.
Chloe Hilliard
ShareThe look would have been just perfect if it weren't for the tie-dye colored gloves, which make things look way too busy.
Issa Rae
ShareWe love the contrasting black trim on Issa Rae's white gown, but the shape looks a little awkward.
Elle Fanning
ShareElle's dress is a perfect combination of edgy and glamorous, but the hair just makes her look like an old lady.
