It can warm you up and take you away to tropical places on a chilly day. It can cool you down on a hot day. They come spicy, savory, sweet, salty, and in a variety of fun glasses. A margarita is, without doubt, one of the most festive cocktails. If you wondering where to get a really good one, take a look at these 10 great places to grab a margarita in Boston.
I prefer mine on the rocks with a salt rim in a traditional margarita glass. But, I'm always up for an adventure. I have been to several of the places listed below. You'll find Yellow Door in their original location in the Lower Mills area of Dorchester, in the South End and now in Mission Hill. I LOVE their coconut margarita. Fabulous and interesting tacos and amazing margs.
3. Citrus and Salt

This "Baja inspired" restaurant has a costal vibe with fun decor and mucho margaritas, with a large selection of tequila and mescal. Their signature margarita is made with Monte Alban tequila, orange liquor, lime, citrus salt rim. Get it frozen or on the rocks.

Offering a "ultra modern and sophisticated approach to Mexican cuisine and craft cocktails," Lolita's signature margarita is made with blanco tequila, house orange liqueur, lime, grapefruit. You had me at grapefruit. Can't wait to try this one.

As a Foursquare reviewer proclaimed: "Fresh lime margaritas!" And that's all we need to know. Ok, there is more to know. They have some really some captivating margarita choices, but their signature is made with libélula joven tequila + combier liqueur d’orange + agave syrup + lime juice and you can kick it up with spice too.

I discovered this little neighborhood gem, by accident on a Google search. And wow! We have been back 3 times. It's a very small space, but the food is great, service amazing and those margaritas! Even in a pitcher, there are exceptional. Nothing fancy here, just a really good margarita.
7. Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar
412 W Broadway, Boston
Located in the heart of Southie, Loco seves 40 different types of tequila. If you order their "You're A Peach" margarita $1 from every drink will go the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston. It's made with Flecha Azul Blanco, lemon, agave, peach puree and peach bitter. Peachy!

At Bodega Canal they serve classic Mexican food, and “tequila forward cocktails.” Try their Spicy Cucumber Margarita! It's made with muddled cucumbers and Ghost Pepper Tequila.
9. Sol Azteca

There's a "touch of Old Mexico" here at Sol Azteca. It's all about authenticity here. And they obviously know what they are doing, because this is one of Boston's first Mexican restaurants, opening in 1974. According their website: "All our margaritas are made to order with fresh lime juice, real agave, and only premium tequilas. We never use artificial mixes or powdered flavors."
