March is one of the most important months in the entire year. The reason is that it is National Women’s Month. National Women’s Month was created in 1987 after Congress passed the petition to create the month by the National Women’s History Project. It’s a month where the women who every day should be recognized for all the great things they do, are given the recognition they deserve and are celebrated for their impact on our society.

Luckily for the country music industry, there is a plethora of phenomenal women who have been making a massive impact in the industry as of late. These women deserve to be highlighted for their accomplishments and what exciting things they have going on right now in their careers.

From rising stars like Megan Maroney to the long-time staples in the industry like Carrie Underwood, women country artist’s impact cannot be understated. What exactly are some of these women doing currently to be making this sort of impact on the industry?     Carly Pearce continues to come into her own as a household name in the country music industry. This year at the 2023 Grammy Awards, Pearce was the winner of the Best Country Duo/Group Performance along with Ashley McBryde for the song Never Wanted To Be That Girl. Pearce currently has been performing on Blake Shelton’s Back To The Honky Tonk Tour.

    She is also set to release her first live album called 29: Written In Stone (Live From The Music City). You can listen to the live versions of Never Wanted To Be That Girl and What He Didn’t Do from the album now.

    Speaking of Ashley McBryde, along with winning her first Grammy award with the aforementioned Carly Pearce, McBryde has been doing some great things as well so far this year. Although she wasn’t the winner of the Best Country Album, she was a nominee for her album Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville. McBryde currently has been performing around the United States with some more performances coming up beginning on April 4th at Clay County Fairgrounds. She recently released a single titled Light On The Kitchen that currently has over 1 million streams on Spotify.

    Kelsea Ballerini has been having a great start to the year 2023. Ballerini was nominated for Best Country Solo Performance for her song Heartfirst. Ballerini also released a short film and an EP called Rolling Up The Welcome Mat. She was fortunate enough to perform the EP on Saturday Night Live in March. Ballerini currently is on her tour titled Heartfirst that will conclude on July 1st.

  • Maren Morris

    Maren Morris has been doing some phenomenal work thus far in 2023. Morris most recently with others like Hayley Williams, Sheryl Crow, Hozier, and many others, played music at an event called Love Rising in Nashville to benefit the LGTBQ+ community. Morris performed The Middle and Better Than We Found It at the event.

    Morris is currently slated to perform at some events that include Boston Calling and Riverbend Festival. She will then begin touring with The Chicks starting on June 20th that will entirely be in Europe.

    The legendary Carrie Underwood has had a tremendous impact on the country music industry for as long as she has been making music. She’s still making an impact all these years later. Underwood just wrapped up her seventh tour titled The Denim and Rhinestones Tour. The Tour began on October 15, 2022 and wrapped up on March 17, 2023 with a total of 43 shows.

    Underwood most recently released a new single titled Out Of That Truck that currently has been streamed over 1.4 million times. She will also be performing at the CMT awards and is also nominated for a couple of awards. She’s nominated for Video of the Year for, Hate My Heart and Female Video of the Year for, Ghost Story.

    Lainey Wilson since her rise in 2021 has been continuing to climb further and further to the top. Wilson is currently on her Country With A Flare tour that is set to wrap up on March 31st. Wilson recently released her fourth album back in October 2022 titled Bell Bottom Country which she has been performing on her tour. Her song off of that album Heart Like A Truck, has been streamed over 57 million times in Spotify.

    Reba is another longtime mainstay in the country music industry. Reba has had one of the most decorated careers we’ve seen in this industry. Believe it or not at age 67, she is still on tour with her Reba: Live In Concert tour that will culminate with her performing at the famous Madison Square Garden on April 15th. This is her first time ever performing in that venue.

    Reba as we know has also been an actress for a long time which she is still acting along with touring the country. She starred in Reba McIntire’s The Hammer which airs on the Lifetime channel.

    Megan Maroney, unlike some of the others on this list, is fairly new in the country music industry. She only just started her music career in 2020. Maroney is set to release her first studio album that is going to be titled Lucky and will release on May 5th, 2023. Maroney also just recently announced that later this year she will also be going on tour for this album. The tour will be called The Lucky Tour

    2023 is a huge year for the new girl in town and we can’t wait for her new debut album and tour!

    Hailey Whitters over the last year, has seen her popularity sky rocket with her song Everything She Ain’t that has accumulated over 60 million streams on Spotify. It’s been a whole year since she released her album Raised but this year she has some very exciting things lined up. This year, she is set to be going on tour throughout the month of May with the legendary Shaina Twain. Twain is one of Whitters’ inspirations as to why she wanted to begin a music career. Seeing her having the opportunity to share the stage with one of her idols makes us very excited for her!

    Going back to staples in the country music industry, Miranda Lambert has had a pretty eventful 2023 thus far. She recently announced that she was leaving her longtime label Sony Music after 19 years of being in the label. It will be very exciting to see where she ends up going next in her music career.

    Lambert is also going to be releasing her first book this year. Lambert is set to release Y’all Eat Yet? on April 25th of this year. This book will include some of Lambert’s cooking recipes and will also include some stories from her time in the kitchen.

    Kylie Morgan, who is another fairly new face in the country music industry, has some great things she’s been doing this year as well as some exciting things she has planned. Morgan recently released a single titled Don’t Stay Gone Too Long that right now has over 700,000 streams on Spotify. Morgan also is set to be headlining her first tour beginning in April of this year. The tour which is called The Independent With You Tour will run through the month of April.

    Elle King so far this year has released her third album that is titled Come And Get Your Wife. King will also be wrapping up her tour A-Freakin Men at the end of this month. The biggest song off the album titled Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home) featuring Miranda Lambert, broke over 140 million streams on Spotify so far.

     King also dabbles in some acting. She was featured as a farmer in a film directed by Rob Schneider called Daddy Daughter Trip that was released in September 2022.
