Plenty of people get into a career and stick with it, riding it out for their entire professional life. Others jump from one career to another to another, never really finding “their calling.” Then there are others who for most of their life work in one career, before making a major jump – a “leap of faith” – to another. We’ll focus on the latter of the three of those examples in this article. I’ll introduce you to 3 South Shore business owners who took an impressive leap of faith to open their Massachusetts business.
I run a page called @SouthShoreStuff (“South Shore Stuff”). I make free videos for businesses in the South Shore to help spread their story and help give them a tool for marketing themselves (a video) and a little exposure. In the past 2 weeks these are the 3 videos I’ve shot and I noticed a common theme among the three: A) they’re all wonderful people – truly special people and B) they all prove that no matter your stage of life (not that they’re “old” because they’re NOT), if you’re driven to make a change you can.
Spending time with each of these three business owners was really cool. You could feel the love they each have for what they do. I’ve made over 200 of my little videos to support local business and I’ve never seen a recurring theme like this three videos in a row. It stood out enough for me that I thought to myself “there must be a reason for this,” so I’m going to run with that hunch and post the 3 videos up here, hoping that someone might need this motivation. Maybe somebody reading this right now is considering a pivot but is nervous to take that “leap of faith.” If nothing else, it’s at least a reminder (one that we need every once in a while) that there are nice people out there in this world. Are we all perfect? Heck no, but it’s important to try our best to be good people.
