Last night on American Idol, the top 5 contestants were revealed after a nationwide vote. And country music has 2 horses left in the race. Watch their performances and get to know them by scolling down.

That’s right, American Idol now has 2 country artists in the top 5 and here’s how it all went down:

  • Huntergirl

From day 1, Huntergirl has been a fan favorite. Honestly, the more we see from this 23 year old Winchester, Tennesee girl, the more impressive she is. Luke Bryan proclaimed this artist to be a “new age Miranda Lambert.”  During this season, HunterGirl also revealed she has a big heart. She does music therapy, working with veterans, when she isn’t working at a gig or writing and recording her own music. This talented woman is associated with several veteran organizations like Operation Song and Freedom Sings USA.

  • Noah Thompson

After practically being plucked off the construction site, this Louisa, Kentucky singer has won America’s heart.  Without any training, and very little on stage time, Noah Thompson was signed up the American Idol by his best friend. The 20 year old new dad and construction worker is a natural.  A postive COVID-19 diagnosis had Noah performing from his room last night. Luke Bryan said it perfectly when earlier in the competition, he declared, “Yeah, you’re going to aw shucks your way to the top and it’s authentic.”

  • Watch Huntergirl Perform

For Mother’s Day, Huntergirl performed former American Idol contestant (and runner up to winner Scotty McCreey)Lauren Alaina’s “Like My Mother Does.”

  • Watch Noah Thompson Perform

Noah Thompson was forced to sing from his hotel room last night, after testing positive for coronavirus. Despite not feeling his best, Luke Bryan proclaimed it was Thompson’s best performance yet! Noah sang “Painted Blue” by Sunday Best.
