Are My Husband And I Swingers And We Didn’t Realize It?

Kimberly’s grandmother loves pineapples. She’s always sending pineapple themed gifts. One day she wore her pineapple earrings out to a bar and a woman approached and told her that means…

Kimberly's grandmother loves pineapples. She's always sending pineapple themed gifts. One day she wore her pineapple earrings out to a bar and a woman approached and told her that means she's a swinger. Now she and her husband are going on a cruise, and the grandmother wants pictures of them in the pineapple gear, but Kimberly don't want people on the boat to get the wrong idea. Do Pineapples Mean You're A Swinger?

Kimberly: The situation is that my grandmother is obsessed with pineapples. Mm hmm. And she sends me all kinds of pineapple stuff. And admittedly, it's. It's cute. So, you know, she sends me pineapple shirts and she'll write and ask, Did you get the pineapple beach chair? And, you know, she sent me pineapple earrings one time, and I just thought, okay, they're cute. I'll wear them. And so one time I was at a bar wearing my pineapple earrings, and some woman came up to me and said, Oh, I see you have pineapple earrings. So you're cool, huh? And I was so confused. And I. I'm confused. I said, okay, thanks. But. And then since I looked confused, she said, Do you know what it means? Do you know what the pineapple symbolizes?

Ayla Brown Kimberly, what happened next?

Kimberly: Yeah, I. I didn't know. And so once she told me that, then I took off the earrings. My husband and I left the bar, and then I started thinking maybe that's why people were looking at me in a weird way at my kid's birthday party recently, because it was pineapple themed, because I had all this pineapple stuff for my grandmother. And I thought these there were some people kind of looking at me suggestively, and I was like, What is that about? You know, this is a little kids party, something. Yeah. And so I put it all away and I thought, Oh my God, I didn't even know what I was getting into. I was just trying to, you know, humor my grandma and use the pineapple stuff and it's nice and springy and, you know, but I don't I'm not a swinger. We're not interested in that. So I put it on, and.

Ayla Brown I'm so relating to the story right now because it would go right over my head, too. And, you know, it's something I would do. Okay, so you put it away and end of story.

Kimberly There's more to it. Okay, There's more to it. So obviously, I wasn't thinking that I would say anything to my grandma about what I found out about the symbolism of the pineapple. But pretty soon, you know, my husband and I are going to be going on a cruise. And my mom told me, Oh, I want you to wear all the grandma pineapple stuff that she sent. Please wear the shirts and take pictures because grandma can't go on vacation anymore and she wants to live vicariously and she'd love to see you enjoying all your pineapple stuff. And I thought, do I just I mean, do I have this conversation with my mom or my grandma about what it means.

Ayla Brown Good question. Does grandma know what pineapples mean? Should Kimberly have the conversation and sit both her mom and grandma down and be like, Stop sending me pineapples? And this is why that's what she wants to know.
