This week, we’ve got some new music from Russell Dickerson, a brand-new album from Kip Moore, who I recently interviewed, a rising star making waves with her new song, and I’ve got a show that’s climbing the charts that you need to hear.
Hot Off The Press: Russell Dickerson - "Happen To Me"
Here’s a new song from Russell Dickerson to kick off this week’s new music. It’s called “Happen To Me” and it sounds like a song-of-the-summer contender. Russell has a clear knack for delivering some up-tempo hits and “Happen To Me” is another great song to put on that list. It’s about when everything in life falls into place. It’s got a melody that won’t go away and Russell’s smooth vocals. You’ll love this one.
Album Drop: Kip Moore - Solitary Tracks
Kip Moore is back with a brand new album. It’s called Solitary Tracks, and it’s a twenty-three song collection that showcases his ability to story tell and his authenticity. It was co-produced by Jaren Johnston, somebody who Kip Moore has worked with for a very long time. This was also Kip’s first album release on a new record label: Virgin Music Group.
Kip explained his approach to creating this record, saying “I’m never going to cheat by just trying to write what I think people want to hear, or hold onto a sound that worked for me. I’m going to always be authentic with myself, with every record, and all I ever hope is that people find a little solace.”
If you are a fan of his mix of grit, passion, and storytelling like we discussed, this is definitely an album you should check out. I asked Kip if this ‘sound’ was his new signature, and he said he’s already working on his next project, which has a totally different feel.
Rising Star Spotlight: Dasha - "Not At This Party"
This week’s Rising Star Spotlight goes to Dasha and her new song “Not At This Party.” Dasha is bringing a fresh vibe to country music and this song is a perfect example of what makes her stand out. It’s a track about feeling out of place and not wanting to pretend everything is okay. The melody is impossible to forget. She’s got a rising fanbase and a sound that’s unique.
On Your Radar: Kelsey Hart - "Life With You"
Closing out this week’s lineup is a song that’s gaining so momentum on the country charts. Kelsey Hart takes it this week with his debut single “Life With You.” Kelsey actually stopped by our studios this week to play this song for us, and it’s just one of those good ‘ol country songs that has a special feel. He had the idea and inspiration to write a song about his then-girlfriend. He took that inspo into the studio and really created a special song. Hearing him sing it live was impressive, his voice is strong and rich, and he’s extremely friendly and happy to be where he is.
