Welcome back to “Ben’s Songs You Need To Hear!” It’s a weekly series that drops on Tuesdays where I share with you what new songs I think you, well, need to hear! As you know, I handle the afternoon shift on Country 102.5, but I also serve as the station’s music director. It is my responsibility to curate our music selection and stay on top of all of the latest hits that are coming out of Nashville. Therefore, I think that you’ll love the songs that I am keeping an eye (and an ear on). Let’s get into it!

• Riley Green - "Worst Way"

  This song is already a certified platinum hit for Riley. He just named it as his next single, and to be honest, I think it’s a song that I needed to hear from Riley. I love the vibes that he incorporated in his prior singles, but this one has a much different feel. It’s almost blues-y if you will.

• Max McNown - "Better Me For You (Brown Eyes)"

  Here is a brand new country artist who I promise you’ll be hearing a lot of, if you haven’t already. He gained a lot of popularity via posting songs on social media, and this song bring just a refreshing feel to the country music genre.

• Jackson Dean - "Heavens To Betsy"

  If you’ve heard Jackson Dean’s voice before, you’d know that he has a very strong vocal profile. A little raspy, but that makes it even better. His new single “Heavens To Betsy” is definitely my favorite from him thus far, and I have a strange feeling that you’ll share that opinion.

• Nate Smith - "Fix What You Didn't Break"

  If you have listened to Nate’s music before, you know that he takes the production value of his catalog very seriously. When he stopped by our studio last year, I asked him about it and we had a great conversation around how he likes to highlight certain instruments within his tracks, and how he likes to make the songs sound “big.” Well, this is definitely a big one from him. In my opinion, the best part is the verse melody.
