Out of our initial responses, over half of them were for New Deal Fruit. When going to the New Deal website, we found that the deli is owned by the Petruzzelli family and has appeared on The Phantom Gourmet. After looking at the menu, New Deal Fruit features specialty sandwiches, hot subs and cold subs. Hot subs like meatball, chicken parm, veal parm AND a combination sub of chicken AND veal parm. When asked what makes the Italian sub at New Deal better than the rest, the most popular answer was “the best imported meats sliced thin and the bread is extremely fresh.” According to the New Deal website, “Today the fourth generation of the Petruzzelli family carries forth the Joseph’s legacy selling high quality fruits and vegetables as well as hand-sliced deli meats and oversized submarine sandwiches.”
