Does it seem like people are having more babies now? When I was having my kids, everyone I knew also had just children to complete their family. But now, it seems as if 3 or 4 is the standard for number of offspring. The birthrate was slightly higher in the U.S. last year. But that’s not all. Boom! According to Macrotrends, the birth rate in the country last year was 12.023 births per 1000 people. That is a 0.09% increase from 2022. However, that is significantly less that the rate of the rest of the world. In fact, an article in USA Today points out: “The United States population grew at about half the rate of global growth in 2023, according to figures released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau.” Pew Research reports that since 2011, the “share of Americans who see families of three or more children as ideal has risen among all levels of education.”
Some of the famous names you’ll see below were first time parents in 2023, like Jon and Summer Pardi. Meanwhile others are working on their own band, like Preston Brust of LOCASH, who now has a family of five. The happiest news of all is that each of these families is healthy and happy. And yes, they are all back to work to pay for their beautiful children’s future college, and all the stuff that comes with babies.
