Meet Stacey Kelleher from Ossipee, New Hampshire and Nashville

When you grow up in a home filled with all kinds of music, from pop to country, jazz to classic rock, and singer/songwriter influences, only good things can happen. And this good this is named Stacey Kelleher. Her unique sound ecompasses so many textures, vibes, influences and genres. I hear subtle hints of Kacey Musgraves, Kay Hanley from (Boston’s)Letters to Cleo, Dua Lipa and Ingrid Andress.

This gifted performer grew up in the small resort town of Ossipee, New Hampshire. That is where she discovered her talent, and pursue her passion, learning piano, and guitar and taking voice lessons. After high school it was on to Berklee College of Music and then the move to Nashville, where the 22 year old currently resides.

There have been prestigious honors, recognition, and accolades along the way, not to mention plenty of on stage time, at venues across the country. Stacey has even played the mother church of country music, the pinnacle of performance venues, Nashville’s beloved Ryman Auditorium. Ossippee was the launching pad, now the sky’s the limit for this impressive young artist.

  • Stacey Sings

Stacey’s beautiful original, “You Never Know With Me” is a self-reflective look at personality traits and realizing those characterists effect relationships. But the greater realization is that we are who we are and shouldn’t change for anyone. Stacey shared that the song is about “not being afraid to be yourself no matter what! I wrote it with my friend Emily Gurklis after going through a rough patch in my life.”

  • Close-up with Kelleher

    • From: Ossipee, New Hampshire
    •  Now lives in: Nashville, Tennessee
    • Single: “You Never Know With Me” from EP, Songs So Far
    • What lead you to music: I always remember having a love for music. I would sing along to the radio and perform for friends and family every chance that I got.
    • How old when you started: I was 6 when my parents enrolled me in piano lessons and ever since then I was been hooked on music.
    • First country song you learned: “Tonight I Wanna Cry” by Keith Urban
    • Instruments played: Piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, percussion
    • How would you describe your sound: My sound is influenced by storytelling primarily. My songs are full of guitar (both acoustic and electric), piano and synthesizers, lots of background vocals that I arrange myself, and big drums. I’m influenced by country songwriting, pop production and melodies, and singer/songwriter lyrics.
    • Who inspires you: Kacey Musgraves, John Mayer, Maren Morris, Maggie Rogers
    • Awards/accolades My EP “Songs So Far” won “Album of the Year” in 2022 from Nashville artist management company “Another Great Day Entertainment”. I was also selected as one of 32 competitors for local Nashville radio station Lightning 100’s 2022 “Music City Mayhem” original music contest.
    • Dream duet partner: Harry Styles
    • All- time favorite country song: (or songs if you can’t name just one): “Run” by George Strait
    • First country concert: 1989 – Taylor Swift at Gillette Stadium
    • What songs do you like now on Country 1025: Circles Around this Town by Maren Morris – I relate to it so much because I’m doing exactly what she did when she first moved to Nashville and that’s what the song is all about. I also like “Heartfirst” by Kelsea Ballerini!
    • If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing: I would probably be an English teacher or an author.
    • Day Job: Music teacher at School of Rock Nashville!
    • Most proud moment: Winning “Album of the Year” this year – my EP “Songs So Far” is made up of the songs that I’ve written so far in my first 2.5 years in Nashville, and every single one of them is so personal to me. Winning such a big award really made me feel so honored and humbled that my songs meant something to people.
    • Crazy thing that happened in your music career: I played with a famous steel guitar player in Nashville that’s played with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Taylor Swift, Randy Houser, and many more!
    • Other things you like to do: Take my rescue dog Roe to the dog park, go for a run, read my favorite book, and catch up with my family and friends back in New Hampshire on FaceTime.
    • Fun facts: I have perfect pitch, which means I can immediately identify what note any sound is, whether it’s a car horn, microwave beeping, or a note in a song. I have a black belt in karate.  I hold a school record in the indoor track 1000 meter race at my high school!
    • Mantra: It’s a marathon, not a sprint!
