This is going to be fun. And cold. But here’s something to warm your social calendar. College hockey is returning to Fenway Park in 2023. January’s Frozen Fenway will feature a Women’s college double header, to include a matchup between Boston University and Holy Cross (date and time TBA, as well as the 2nd matchup). There will also be 2 Men’s college games. Get ready for Northeastern versus UConn, and UMass taking on Boston College on January 7. Tickets for that double header will go on sale to the general public this Thursday at redsox.com.

These college games will take place just a few days after The Winter Classic, January 2. The Bruins will host the Penguins in the 2023 battle at the ballpark.

  • It Won't Be the First Time. Or the Last.

This will be actually be the 5th time in 11 years that Fenway has hosted college hockey games. 2010 was the first time the Winter Classic was held at ye olde ball park, then  in 2012 there were 3 Hockey East games. Fenway also presented 5 college games in 2014 and 2017.

If you remember, back in 2017 games had to be postponed because of snow.
