The summer concert season just got hotter. The social calendar is filling up quickly for summer shows! But before you commit to anything, take a look at this! Here, you’ll find 7 must-see country concerts in Cohasset and Cape Cod this summer.

If you’ve never been to the South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset or the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis, it’s definitely worth the trip from wherever you are. These venues offer a unique and up close concert experience. Honestly, I’ve been going to both venues since I was a kid, and there really isn’t a bad seat in the house!

The South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset and the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis, on the Cape, have been busy booking country artists for the summer season. The long-running intimate venues have country fans covered with an eclectic mix of artists, from trending newer stars to established favorites with a catalog of hits.

Up Close Country Concerts in Cohasset and Cape Cod

There’s something special about being outside in the summer air, but protected in the tent. Wherever your sit, there is an Instagram- worthy photo opportunity. These theater-in-the-round venues have revolving stages, so everyone wins when it comes to a view. And the artists love playing here. In fact, take a listen to what country superstar Jake Owen had to say about playing these venues.

Both of these fantastic venues also offer plenty of food and beverage items, but there are also many restaurants nearby. You will honestly be amazed at the photos you’ll be able to take, thanks to the  proximity of every seat. This year, you’ll notice an exceptional showing of country acts in Hyannis, in particular.

For over 60 years, the South Shore Music Circus in beautiful Cohasset, Massachusetts and its sister venue, the Cape Cod Melody Tent in the heart of Hyannis have been entertaining us with world-class music, comedy and theater shows. These are only two continuously-operated tent theatres in the round in all of the United States,

Make this the summer you come to one of the many great country concerts in Cohasset and Cape Cod!

  • Brantley Gilbert

Sunday, June 2: Cape Cod Melody Tent

Last summer, multiplatinum selling artist Brantley Gilbert toured with Nickleback. The country rocker makes his way back to Massachusetts on his own headlining tour, Off the Rails. With 7 #1 hits and a host of top 20s in his good-time, blue collar repertoire, the country star has earned a large fan base in the area. So, get ready BG nation, it’ll be quite “The Weekend” to find out “What Happens in a Small Town” while singing “Dirt Road Anthems.”

  • Jo Dee Messina

Saturday, June 8: Cape Cod Melody Tent

Our hometown girl returns to her native Massachusetts for a slew of “Homecoming Shows,” as she has titled her tour in New England. The pride of Holliston made her way to Nashville in the 1990s to become one of country music’s most popular acts. And what a catalog of hits she’ll bring. Her signature “Heads Carolina,” inspired Cole Swindell’s massive 2022 award-winning hit “She ad Me at Heads Carolina.” Jo Dee’s energy on stage is infectious. It’s obvious she was made for this. What a wild ride it’s been for Messina, who’s racked up  9 #1 hits and 16 top 40 songs. “Bye Bye,” “Bring on the Rain (with Tim McGraw), “I’m Alright,”and “Lesson in Leaving” are just a few of her biggest hits. Plus, she is the first female in country music history to celebrate three consecutive multi-week, chart-topping songs.

  • Scotty McCreery

Thursday, June 20: Cape Cod Melody Tent

He’s baaack! Scotty McCreery loves to come to his home away from home every summer. His father grew up in New England and instilled his love of Boston sports on Scotty. The newest member of the Grand Ole Opry told me it’s a tradition to visit New England in the summer and perform here:

The 2011 American Idol winner has a brand new album, Rise and Fall (out May 10), and another hit single rising on the charts, “Cab in a Solo.” In his career, McCreery has amassed 13 charted singles, include 5 consecutive #1 hits! Those #1s are:  Five More Minutes, This Is It, In Between, You Time and Damn Strait. He is passionate about country music and it shows in every single performance. He has quite an zealous army of fans, called McCreerians.

  • Elle King

Friday, June 22: South Shore Music Circus

Saturday, June 29: Cape Cod Melody Tent

Sassy, free spoken and skilled singer/songwriter Elle King comes to both venues to help kick off the summer fun at the tents. King, the daughter of comedian Rob Schneider, is also quite witty. Her song, “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” with Miranda Lamber was the biggest hit of 2022 in country music (in Boston). The Grammy nominated #1 hit was the first by a female duet to reach the top of the charts in almost 30 years ! (It followed Reba McEntire and Linda Davis’ “Does He Love You” in 1993.).  Elle first became famous for her 2014 smash pop hit, “Ex’s and Ohs.” In 2016 she collaborated with Dierks Bentley for the hit song, “Different For Girls.”

  • Walker Hayes

Sunday, July 7: Cape Cod Melody Tent

Walker puts on a heck of a live show. And often some, if not all, of his 6 kids show up to help out on stage for choreographed dances and to sing along. The “Fancy Like” singer has such a unique style and a way with words. He raps, sings and dances his way all his hits, like “AA,” Y’all Life,” “You Broke Up With Me,” and “U Gurl.” In 2022, Hayes co-authored a book with Craig Allen Cooper called Glad You’re Here. Be prepared for some energy, stories and fun to wrap up the 4th of July week on Cape Cod.

  • Ashley McBryde

Saturday, August 17: Cape Cod Melody Tent

Sunday, August 18: South Shore Music Circus

Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter and all-round super cool artist Ashley McBryde will grace us with her talent and humor at both venues this August. The “Girl Going Nowhere” singer has certainly gone places. Eric Church is a vocal fan of McBryde’s, so is Carly Pearce. Ashley and Carly collaborated on the #1 hit, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” which won a Grammy Award in 2023 for Best Country Duo or Group Performance. She’ll slay you with songs like “One Night Standards,” “Light On In The Kitchen,” “Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega,” and her current title track, “The Devil I Know.” Don’t miss these shows!

  • Chris Janson

Sunday, September 1: Cape Cod Melody Tent

Chris Janson returns to the revolving stage and he’s bound to bounce off the tent. The performers energy is unmatched. He leaps and bounds, he sings, plays, harmonicas and works that stage like no other. With a boatload of hits to his name, Chris has plenty of his for you to sing with. From his first hit single, 2015’s “Buy Me A Boat” to his current banger, “Whatcha See is Whatcha Get,” there a song for every mood and occasion. He does the serious stuff like “Drunk Girl,” but can keep it light and feverishly fun with songs like “Good Vibes” and “I’ll Fix A Drink.” His love letters to his wife are legendary with his hits, “Done” and “All I Need You.”  If you are looking for electricity, plug into to a Chris Janson show.
