Weekdays 10:00am - 3:00pm

Monday, April 17, 2023 will be a marathon. And I’m not just referring to the road race. Our city will be host to quite a few events, some happening simultaneously, some staggered. But heed the warning, if you are coming in for any of the following events listed here, take the T, take an Uber, ride your bike. We’re gonna get busy! So, get ready for a bustling Boston and a marathon of events Monday.

  • The Boston Marathon

It’s Marathon Monday on April 17th. And it’s 127th running of the Boston Marathon, the world’s oldest annual marathon.  Did you know the Boston Marathon ranks as one of the world’s best-known road races? This year will also mark the 10th anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings, so there will certainly be a reflective vibe, as we honor those we lost, and those family members and friends who survived.

  • Patriots Day

Monday is Patriots Day, which is a federally recognized holiday in Massachusetts. Before 2001, it was a exclusively a New England holiday. Today, only a few states, besides Mass. observe it, they are: Maine, Florida (on April 19), Wisconsin (on April 19), Connecticut, and North Dakota.

Patriots’ Day was fFirst observed in 1894. It commemorates the battles of Lexington and Concord that were fought on April 19, 1775. These battles ignited the American Revolutionary War, and were made famous because of the midnight ride of Paul Revere. Every year, on Patriots’ Day, there is a reeanctment of the battles at Lexington Green in Lexington, MA, at the Old North Bridge in Concord, MA, and on Sunday (the day before)in Arlington, MA

Patriots' Day - Minute Man National Historical Park (U.S. National Park Service)

Saturday, April 8, 2023 Meriam's Corner 1:00 - 2:00 pm The Town of Concord, joined by local fife and drum ensembles, minute men and the Concord Independent Battery commemorate the fighting that occurred at Meriam's Corner on April 19, 1775. The Nathan Meriam House will be open 11am- 2pm.

  • Red Sox Patriots Day Game At Fenway Park

The tradition of the Red Sox playing a morning baseball game on Patriots’ Day started back in 1903! That was actually only their third year of existence. Over 8000 fans attended that 10:00am game.

Now the game is played at 11:05, and The Sox are the only MLB team to play a morning game. This gives baseball fans the chance to catch the end of the Marathon. This year, to commenorate the 10th anniversary of the Marathon bombings the Red Sox will wear the BStrong jerseys, which say “Boston” on the front, instead of “Red Sox.”

  • The Bruins Play Game One of Playoffs At the Garden

Go for the Sox game, stay for the Marathon, grab a bite to eat and head over to the Garden… I’m exhaused just thinking about all that. But yes, our record- breaking Boston Bruins will be home, and playing Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Eastern Conference playoffs. The engergy will be electric at the Garden, and all around Boston! Let’s gooooo Bruins. We want the cup!

  • But wait, there's more...

    This just in!
