I don’t know about you, but I find it hard to keep up with all the balls being thrown in the country court. New artists, established artists, new collabs…It’s impossible to keep up with the latest. So, I thought I’d share with you a few hot new songs that stand out to me. What does my opinion mean? Nothing, of course, because music is SO subjective. You might love the songs I’ve picked and you might not. But, I’ve been around the country block long enough to form an experienced opinion. So, I present to you some hot new country: 5 songs I’m diggin’ right now!

What’s Trending

My current playlist includes some veteran names like Old Dominion and Lady A. However, you’ll also find new names, perhaps you’ve never even heard of, like Warren Zeiders and Chayce Beckham. I love the way country music is trending, with a more acoustic, rocked-tinged vibe. I’m always a sucker for a good old fashioned country song too. The singer/songwriter sound is huge right now, thanks in part to Zach Bryan. It’s a mix of folk, country and rock genres. And I am here for it.

What are you listening to? As always, feel free to share your opinions. Maybe I can discover some new country songs from you! It feels like every other day there is a new name popping up. New artists are everywhere. And the popularity of country music is near an all-time high. Country is everywhere. Artists are getting played on stations that play pop and rock as well as country. You can’t go anywhere without hearing Morgan Wallen or Luke Combs on radio and streaming. And now newer singer/songwriter Jelly Roll is infiltrating playlists across America. It’s a beautiful thing to see.  So enjoy these newer country songs, you never know which one will be the next “Last Night.”

  • 1. Old Dominion ft. Megan Moroney- Can't Break Up Now

Matthew Ramsey and Megan Moroney’s voices together just…work. It all seems so natural. I got chills the first time I heard their harmonies together on this love song. Or is it a breakup song? Hmmm. Megan says it’s a love song. We will go with that.

Take a listen to the new release from Old Dominion’s new album, Memory Lane. The album will be out October 6th. And also features a collaboration with Blake Shelton.

  • 2. Lady A- Can't Love You Back

What I am diggin about the new Lady A is that is gives me all the feels of old Lady A. The “Compass” years, the “Just A Kiss” vibes. I’m so glad they are back with new music and a new tour coming to MGM Music Hall at Fenway October 20. Nobody has tighter harmonies than this trio. It’s the years put in, the friendship and the chemistry that makes this band cohesive in song.

  • 3. Tenille Arts/ Leann Rimes Jealous of Myself.

If you remember the Reba McEntire/Linda Davis award winning duet, “Does He Love You,” you will certainly appreciate “Jealous of Myself.” It’s the classic 2 women, 1 man, 2 perspectives story. A love triangle always makes for a good song. And these two strong women voices together are just what country music needs. Old Dominon’s Trevor Rosen had a hand in writing this one, along with Emily Weisband and John Byron.

  • 4. Chayce Beckham- 23

It may be new to you and me but “23” has been a fan favorite at Chayce Beckham shows for quite some time. Perhaps because it’s so personal. The American Idol winner has already earned over 278 million streams for this acousticy gem. It’s already certified GOLD too. I’m seriously hoping this one catches fire. According to Music Mayhem Magazine, it’s a “very personal song to Beckham as he authentically sings about his life story and his past struggles with alcohol. Throughout the song, he references real life experiences from a very dark time in his life prior to his audition for the competition series.”

  • 5. Warren Zeiders-Pretty Little Poison

Relative Nashville newcomer Warren Zeiders grew up in the Hershey, Pennsylvania area on a musical diet country, rock, and Christian music. His music and love of sports helped to shape who he is today. Zeiders studied business and lacrosse at Frostburg State University in Maryland. He would post cover songs to TikTok. Then he started digging deep and writing songs. His “Ride the Lightning” gained over 500 millions before he was signed to Warner Records.  I love the raw energy and the southern rock feel of “Pretty Little Poison.” I feel like it stands out. His voice and phrasing are captivating.
