Stella and her husband were at a party with some friends where they decided to play a party game. As part of the game, they each had to reveal who they would want to be stranded on a desert island with. Stella chose her husband. Her husband chose her friend Denise. He is insistent that it was a joke and she is over reacting. But Stella was embarrassed and is now concerned he has a thing for Denise.

Dear Jonathan and Ayla,

Here is my problem for Panic Button. My husband and I were at a party over the weekend and we were playing a game where the entire group is asked questions and has to answer at the same time by pointing. The question was “Who in the group would you want to be stranded on a desert island with.” When we all pointed I pointed at my husband but to my horror and surprise he pointed at another woman. Specifically my friend Denise.

It was also embarrassing because no one else in the group pointed to anyone but their significant other. Even Denise pointed to her boyfriend. Everyone started laughing at him. What was his reason? He said Denise used to be a girl scout so she would know how to survive on a desert island. Sure, it had nothing to do with the fact that Denise is 5’9 with double D’s and blonde hair.

ALSO I WAS IN THE GIRL SCOUTS TOO AND IN FACT THAT’S WHERE I MET DENISE!!!

He later said he was just joking and he didn’t think I would take it so poorly. Then he made it all about how I couldn’t take a joke and called me overly sensitive and asked if I was on my period.

Am I overreacting to this?
