Happy birthday to Kelsea Ballerini, who turns 29 years old today! She’s been a very busy woman, as of late. The new album, Subject To Change is set to drop in less thank 2 weeks (September 23) for starters. She’s been running around New York City for Fashion Week checking out the new collections from designers like alice+ olivia by Stacey Bendet, Jason Wu, Private Policy, Ulla Johnson, Altuzarra, Prabal Gurung and PatBo. And there is a tour too! Kelsea will make her way to Boston right after her album release, on September 25. She’ll perform a show at the brand new venue, Roadrunner.

So, thank you for all those gifts, Kelsea. But the real treasure of a gift given to us fans, was when she revealed on her social media accounts that she will be part of a female  powerhouse trio collaboration. Which brings back memories of The Trio album, from three female legends, back in 1987. Dolly Parton, Linda Rondstadt and Emmy Lou Harris collaborated to bring us this work of art, that has certainly stood the test of time.

Birthday girl Kelsea Ballerini’s gift to us is a song she will be releasing with Carly Pearce and Kelly Clarkson. What a combo! It’s started with a “sneaky peek,” as Kelsea described it. That lead to a full on confession of the collab, that will be on her brand new album. I’m here for it, 100%. Cannot wait for this “sassbomb yeehaw collab,” as described in her post.

  • The Sassbomb Sisterhood Collab Sneak Peak

These three songstresses have more in common than just music. They are three women who’ve recently gone through divorces (or soon to be in Kelsea’s case). Oh, the songs that bind us. “You’re Drunk, Go Home” will be released on the day the album is released, September 23.

  • Kelsea, The Model In NYC

With New York Fashion week in full bloom last week, there was Ballerini mingling with celebrities and models, and very much looking like a model herself.

Here are a few things you may not know about Ms. Ballerini! According to Sounds Like Nashville,:

    • A music career was never her intention. Even though Kelsea did write and sing most of her life, she didn’t think it would be a career choice. Intitially, Ballerini wanted to be a veterinarian! She thought she would settle into her hometown and take care of people’s pets.
    • Glee club, church choir and school choir were all part of Kelsea’s upbringing. She obviously had the performing bug from early on.
    • Kelsea’s dad was in radio, before she was on radio! Her father was a radio programmer at WIVK in Knoxville, TN
    • Ballerini is her real name, and ironically she as a dancer. Starting around age 3, Kelsea took ballet lessons, then progressed to jazz and modern dance, before landing on hip-hop dance. That was her favorite. She was on a competitive hip-hop team for a while, then around age 13 ditched it for music.
    • Kelsea’s first job was sweet! She worked at a cupcake shop. She told Williamson Source,The rule was if you messed it up, you had to dispose of it but they didn’t tell us how, so I ended up having to start working out that summer from eating too many cupcakes!”
  • That Time She Surprised Everyone and Performed At Our Acoustic Live Show in Boston

It was early March 2020, right before the world shut down. Country 1025 presented Acoustic Live at Big Night Live in Boston. Our show starred Kane Brown, Gabby Barrett, Russell Dickerson, Chris Lane and Michael Ray. Then, seemingly out of nowhere Kelsea Ballerini appeared on stage, with mic in hand! It was magical.
