Kruser’s Local Catch

Kruser’s Local Catch

I’m listening to a new song that drips with heartfelt lyrics. It’s blindingly bedazzled with gems of real life. And hey, isn’t that’s what we want from artists? Truths and stories delivered sincerely, with vocals that captivate. That’s what you get from Juliana Cervizzi from North Reading, MA. My Local Catch of the Week.

Here, you can get to know this talented singer/songwriter who grew up in New England, but now calls Nashville home. Juliana is a student by day, enrolled at Nashville’s prestigious Belmont University. When not in class, you may find her pouring her heart out on paper, in song, and on the stage.

You Can’t Take The Boston Out Of The Girl

Cervizzi’s new release, “The One in Tennessee” depicts her frustrations of fitting in and finding love. Undoubtedly, it’s a bit of a culture shock when moving from the North East to the South. And you know, once a Boston girl, always a Boston girl. I certainly found that to be true when moving around the country after college. It just never leaves you. With this song, Juliana is connecting with all women who’ve ever felt like haven’t found their place or the right heart, yet.

But, there’s always hope. You just keep throwing darts at the board, and eventually one will hit. That analogy holds true for some many aspects of our life. From love, to career and peace of mind, keep at it and something will hit. Listening to Juliana’s song, I can’t help draw comparisons to Megan Moroney. It’s the pacing and rawness of her vocals. And yeah, it’s her ability to connect her stories to our lives.

Take a listen to Juliana’s Cervizzi’s new single, below. You can also get to know her better, here. And get links to her social media accounts to keep up with her. It’s a great way to support our New England singer/songwriters.

  • The Music

“The One In Tennessee” is Juliana’s latest release. She says this song is deeply personal. It’s about her” love-life experience since moving to Nashville.” Cervizzi explained: “Before moving down south, I thought I would come here and get swept off my feet by a nice country boy. Man, was I wrong. As a northern girl, I didn’t realize how hard it would be for me to find southern love. So, I wrote a song about it. ‘The One In Tennessee’ is for all the girls who haven’t found their place in this town or in someone’s heart. Although this is only a single and is not apart of a bigger project, I suspect that my music going forward will have a similar influence. This song is unique to me as an artist and helps me stand out among the rest of the country music scene. “

  • The Story

    • From: North Reading, MA
    • Now lives in: Nashville, TN
    • Current single:  “The One In Tennessee”
    • What lead you to music: I have been lead to music since the day I was born. I believe that’s what I was put on this earth to do. I have been singing since before I could even talk, and as I got older my passion for it only got stronger. Now, I’m a  Songwriting Major with a Music Business Minor in the heart of Music City at Belmont University.
    • How long have you been performing: Since as young as 7 years old
    • First country song you learned: Don’t Ya by Brett Eldridge
    • How would you describe your sound: Pop-country, Singer-songwriter
    • Who inspires you: Songwriting wise, Julia Michaels is my biggest inspiration and the reason I began writing my own music in the first place. Her ability to take such complex feelings and thoughts and create them into simple yet effective poetry is something I strive to do in all of my songs. Artist wise, I’m very inspired by Kelsea Ballerini. I love the way she has impacted the country music industry and is able to connect with her fans in such a deep way.
    • Awards/accolades: Featured on Spotify Editorial Playlist, “Fresh Finds Country”, Participated in Belmont University’s ASCAP Writer’s Showcase presented by Sony Music Publishing.
    • Dream duet partner: Kelsea Ballerini
    • All- time favorite country songs: “See Me Now” by Luke Combs, “Record High” by Dylan Marlowe, “Anybody But You” by Lauren Watkins
    • First country concert: Lady A
    • If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing: Music Publisher. If I couldn’t do anything in music I would probably be a therapist.
    • Day Job: I am currently a Music Publishing intern at Jody Williams Songs in Nashville, TN.
    • Most proud moment: I try to make all my moments proud ones. The hardest thing to do as an independent artist in this industry is to be proud of all your successes, no matter how big or small. You have to make sure to be proud of the art you’re creating as well as the journey you’re on while making it.
    • Crazy thing that happened in your music career: Getting to co-write with artists like Tenille Arts and Nicholas Petricca from the band, WALK THE MOON, at the Anti Social Songwriting Camp in New York City. https://antisocialcamp.com/
    • Other things you like to do: Cook, Read, Hangout with my friends, Exercise
    • Fun facts: I’m a coastal cowgirl! As a northern girl in country music, it’s my duty to give my coastal perspective through my music.
    • Mantra: Everything happens for a reason
