Country star Kip Moore first came into our radar in 2011 with the release of his debut single, “Mary Was the Marrying Kind.” The song wasn’t the jumpstart he hoped for, but the singer/songwriter had plenty more in his tank. In Setember of 2011, Moore released “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck” and it blew up. The song became his first #1 hit. Kip is back with more (pardon the pun). Kip Moore called to talk new music, surfing, fishing and his upcoming Massachusetts shows.
Moore’s signature gravel-toned vocals elevate the grit in songs like “Heart on Fire.” He talked about how that song is catching fire in his live shows. The new album is called, Damn Love. The title track is a fan favorite, as is Kip’s duet with Ashley McBryde “One Heartbeat.” He explained how the two came together for this song, below.
Kip Moore makes his way back to one of his favorite places, Massachusetts, next week. You can see him June 9, 10 and 11. He has called Boston “my town” because of his strong fan base here. Take a listen as the artist talks about a bar he used to love to frequent here, as well as where he calls home these days, and his love of fishing, below.
