Chris Ruediger was just 19 years old when he first stepped into our studios to share his music. There was an impressive maturity and understanding in his music at that young age. Fast foward about 5 years and the singer/songwriter from Concord, MA is sounding like a seasoned artist.

Ruediger’s years in Nashville have only heightened his craft. I’m sure being around so many other talented people keeps you sharp and competitive, but it’s also likely to inspire you. Chris recently shared a new song called, “Takes a Breakup.” It’s a cleverly written song that shares the “when one door closes another one opens” perspective on relationships. His vocals are more soulful than ever. And Chris clearly delivers his lyrics with relatable and emotional intent.

Polished, passionate and on-point, Chris Ruediger has all he needs to take flight. Keep your eye on this rising star.

  • Ruediger on the record

Chris’ latest release is called, “Takes A Breakup.” Of the original song, Ruediger says, “I wrote this song a year ago with Frank Legeay, Chris Mckenna, and Zach Seabaugh. There are a lot of breakup and love songs in country music, but we took a different approach. Sometimes we forget that a breakup can actually be a step in the right direction be.”

  • The Chris List

    • From: Concord, MA
    • Now lives in: Nashville, TN
    • Current single, and or EP or Album: “Takes A Breakup”
    • What led you to music: I listened to a bunch of music with my dad growing up. I also participated in musical theater. I found myself constantly singing around the house. In middle school, I picked up the guitar. My English teacher, John Fitzsimmons, would teach me a different chord before English class and eventually I learned enough chords to play a bunch of songs. I moved down to Nashville 5 years ago to go to school here and fell in love with the city. It is pretty special!
    • How old were you when you started: My first public performance was when I was 13 years old. My dad took me to Main Street Cafe, a local open mic in Concord, MA. I knew 2 songs at the time but I got up there and sang them. That is how I fell in love with live music!
    • First country song you learned: The first song I learned was “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker. I have probably played it over 500 times now haha.
    • Instruments played: Guitar, Bass, Piano
    • How would you describe your sound: My music combines modern pop melodies and production with honest and authentic storytelling. It bridges the gap between pop, country, and singer-songwriter music.
    • Who inspires you: My family, they are always supporting me. From a musical standpoint, I listen to so much music. Keith Urban, Morgan Wallen, John Mayer, Jack Harlowe, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, etc.
    • Awards/accolades: Nashville Briefing 30 Under 30 for 2023.
    • Dream duet partner: This is tough so many. In country would love to collaborate with Thomas Rhett. In the pop world, Dua Lipa! let’s go haha.
    • All- time favorite country song: Current favorite country song: My guy Nate Smith – “Whiskey on You”
    • All time favorite country song: Garth Brooks “The Dance”
    • First country concert: First country concert was Thomas Rhett and Luke Combs at XFinity Center.
    • If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing: I don’t even want to think about that! Probably marketing and advertising somewhere.
    • Day Job: Some people know this, but I work on the business side of the industry too. I love helping other artists develop and I collaborate with them as much as I can.
    • Most proud moment: Releasing my debut EP, “Kid Anymore” after graduating college…. yes, I somehow graduated!
    • Other things you like to do: I love watching movies and stand up comedy. I love swimming but can’t stand running haha.
    • Fun facts: I played high school golf, I can juggle surprisingly well, I collect hats and probably have close to 100 hats! It’s an obsession at this point.
    • Mantra: “Don’t let anyone outwork you.”
