Kruser’s Local Catch

Kruser’s Local Catch

With every turn of this Paige, there’s more depth. And, like a good read, you can’t wait to find out what will happen next. This much I know, so far this book has been a beautiful journey to watch and hear. When I first met Paige Davis she was in high school, and already tremendously talented. She has since graduated college and moved to Nashville to jump start her music career. Please, read on, so you can get to know my Local Catch of the Week, Paige Davis from Pepperell, Massachusetts.

This next chapter for Paige has her digging deeper in her songwriting. This is a personal story. Davis’ new release “Growing Pains” is a lovely lyrical look at what it has taken for her to get here. It’s admirably honest and delightfully detailed in it’s story telling. Her vocals show just the right amount of restraint for her story to be heard clearly. But, when more emotion is called for, Paige delivers. Musically, it’s a subtly powerful melody.

Being able to witness Paige flow gracefully through each phase of her remarkable book has been a great joy. With each new phase and every stage along the way, this local artist seems to flourish. This career path is not an easy one, but she somehow makes it seem effortless. The stroke of a real artist.

Hear Paige’s new song. Learn about her influences, her stand-out moments, her favorite music, all here. Meet my Local Catch of the Week, Paige Davis from Pepperell and Nashville.

  • The Music

    “Growing Pains”

“For me, ‘Growing Pains’ was the only option for a leading single coming from my move to Nashville from Massachusetts. I wrote it alone after doing my hair to take a TikTok video (lol), and noticed my heat protectant spray was almost out. I recorded a little voice memo of the melody of the first line of the song and came back to it an hour or so later. I finished it in one sitting. Every line in it is an honest, real experience that I’ve had and that I’ve had to work through to get to where I am now. It’s a story of hardship and triumph, and all of the weird and uncomfortable and magical things in between.”

  • The Story

    * Grew up in: Pepperell, MA

    * Now lives in: Nashville, TN

    * Current single: “Growing Pains”

    * What lead you to music: Connection. To others. To myself. To something bigger than all of us. When you strip back all the other layers that make up music, at the end of the day- to me- its about connection. It’s ability to make massive groups of people feel understood and less alone, to bring people together, to get people moving and dancing and just simply enjoying life for a little bit is like nothing else we have in this world. I feel so lucky to be able to express myself and create through such a powerful outlet.

    * How long have you been performing: 12 years in January!!

    * First country song you learned: Our Song by Taylor Swift

    * How would you describe your sound: Oh boy. I think my identity as an artist and songwriter has grown so much since I first started, so this answer may be completely different a year from now. But right now, I think it’s where diary-style songwriting meets the storytelling of country music, with elements of artists who have inspired me all throughout my life. If I had to give a specific “genre” I’d call it ‘whimsical alternative country.’

    * Who inspires you: Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers, Kelsea Ballerini, Miley Cyrus, Lainey Wilson, Carter Faith, Noah Kahan, Anna Nalick, Halsey, Tyler Childers

    * Awards/accolades: Country Act of the Year at  the 2017 New England Music Awards. Performed as the opening act for Parmalee this past summer. In previous years, I also opened for Lady A with Kelsea Ballerini, Brett Young, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, and Lee Ann Womack to name a few. I also kicked off the 2017 New England Country Music Festival with Frankie Ballard, Michael Ray and William Michael Morgan. I’ve had 7 artist cuts as a songwriter, and there are many more to come in the new year.

    * Dream duet partner: Dead or alive? I guess I’ll do both. Prince. May he rest in peace. He has been my dream duet partner for as long as I can remember. But alive? I’d have to say Taylor Swift. But we’d have to write the song together! I think that would be the best part, co-writing a song with her.

    * All- time favorite country song: I’ll do the song I most wish I’d written: Greener Pasture by Carter Faith.

    * First country concert: Taylor Swift Fearless Tour at Gillette Stadium in 2010. If that’s not country country enough, then Lady A when I opened for them at the You Look Good Tour.

    * If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing: I graduated from UMass Amherst in May 2022 with a degree in neuroscience/psychology. I would probably be in my first year of med school right now if I hadn’t moved to Nashville last October. Thank god for music!!! LOL

    * Day Job: I’m a nanny for three beautiful angel little girls!!!

    * Most proud moment: When my song ‘growing pains’ that I wrote by myself on the floor of my living room hit 25,000 streams in just over a month of it being released.

    * Crazy thing that happened in your music career: Every single day is crazy. I just can’t believe that I get to do this and live and chase my dreams and get to have the absolute best time in the world doing it.

    * Other things you like to do: hang out with my friends!!! Volunteer!!! Listen to music! Journal! Walk! Bake! Learn!!!!!

    * Fun facts: I feel most fulfilled when I’m donating my time and abilities to people in need. I have an insane passion for any volunteer and/or nonprofit organization that I can get involved in. It’s the best.

    * Mantra: I’m so lucky and everything works out for me!!✨✨✨
