What's better than a hot bowl of pasta on a cold winter's night? Here in Massachusetts we LOVE our pasta. We have a whole section of our city full of delicious pasta dishes. The North End is one of the top destinations for a meal out, that should tell you how much we love pasta. In fact, Massachusetts is one of the most pasta-loving states in the USA, according to a new study from Chicco USA.

Where does Massachusetts rank among all the states? And what's our favorite pasta dish. I'll dish it all out for you here. So grab a napkin, a fork and a spoon (the proper way to eat spaghetti), and let's dig in!

What's the #1 Pasta Loving State?

Dang, New York beat us! Well, they do have New York City to drive up the numbers. So, it's really no surprise New York leads the nation in pasta lovers per capita. They have some of the most famous Italian restaurants in the world.  There's Carmines in Times Square, and rumor has it he early 20th-century invention of the classic dish Tetrazzini was created at the famous Knickerbocker Hotel in New York City (according to Chicco).

Where Does Boston Rank?

We are keeping right up there! Massachusetts is ranked THIRD of all the United States for pasta lovers! The North End is considered one of the most authentic neighborhoods for pasta in the entire country. You'll find a great list of North End restaurants here:

According to Chicco, "macaroni is America’s favorite. "It can be eaten at an upscale eatery or at the kitchen table — macaroni and cheese is classic comfort food and a favorite of pint-sized picky eaters! Popularized during World War 2 due to the rationing of meat and cheese, the elbow-shaped pasta dish represents the American home-cooking experience." Seriously, macaroni?  Probably because kids love it!
