Couples Dancing And Drinking At Evening Party

Nikki was out with her husband and wanted to dance but he refused to, so she danced alone. Then a random guy came up and offered to dance with her so she went for it. At first he seemed fine that she danced with another man. But then the fast song bled into a slower song. Now her husband is angry that she embarrassed him. Is Nikki wrong for wanting to have fun. Or is her husband justified in being angry that she danced with another man?

Jonathan: Hey, Nicki.

Nikki: Hey, good morning. How are you?

Jonathan: Fantastic. So, Nikki, you like to cut a rug as it were. But it’s becoming an issue with you and your husband. What’s going on?

Nikki: We were out on Saturday, and they had an amazing dance floor. He knows I love to dance. So I said, Oh, come on, let’s just get up. Let’s cut a rug.

Ayla: Mm hmm. That’s awesome.

Nikki: No, I don’t want to. I don’t want to. And I said, Okay, fine. Then I’m going to go dance.

Jonathan: Wait, hold on. Has he ever danced with you before? I mean, it’s just like something.

Nikki: At our wedding.

Ayla: This is legit. I feel like a lot of relationships are out there where the girls love to dance.

Jonathan: It’s like they’re perfect for each other.

Nikki: But they never want to dance.

Ayla: No, never. But my husband, if he had a little liquid courage, I’ve been on the floor, and he’ll maybe get up and dance a little bit.

Nikki: So I thought maybe this will be the night. He had his classic negroni, and he still wouldn’t dance. And so I’m dancing and it’s Springsteen. And I’m like, Yes, this is exactly the kind of music that I loved. He just was smiling. And then this little handsome man…

Jonathan: Little? Or do you mean young?

Nikki: Okay, yeah. He was like, I’ll dance with you.

Jonathan: In front of your husband? So he came up to you and said, Hey, I’ll dance with you?

Nikki: And he could see that I was trying to sing along on the dance floor.

Jonathan: So what did your husband do?

Nikki: He just sort of smiled and shrugged. And it was not a big deal. We started dancing, and he was amazing, by the way, one of the best dancers.

Jonathan:
Maybe your husband doesn’t have anything to worry about. Anyway, so you guys danced, and that was that.

Nikki: We’re dancing. And then it switches to a slow song, and it’s one of my favorites, My girl.

Jonathan: The Temptations. Great song.

Nikki: Great song. Right. You can’t not dance to that, right? So we’re dancing and it’s really lovely. And he’s sweet. He’s telling me about where he’s from and stuff. And then at the end, my husband was livid with me.

Ayla: Like on the way home or like in the bar.

Nikki: On the way home. If you’ve been married, you know, you get the look.

Ayla: I give the look a lot. But yes.

Jonathan: I mean, brother and sister.

Nikki: He gave me the look. You know? In the car, he was like, How dare you? Why did you do that to me? You embarrassed me. People could think that you’re cheating on me. And I said, What? Cheating? First of all, I was My Girl. How can you not dance to that? And that guy was just standing in front of me, so I might as well dance with him.

Jonathan: All right, Nikki, be honest. Was this guy better looking than your husband?

Nikki: Oh, you stop that. He’s 15 years younger than me. Absolutely not. Okay. Not interested.

Jonathan: You’re not? Oh, of course. You know.

Ayla: He’s a teenager. He probably made your husband feel a certain way. What he was jealous about. And I kind of understand where he is coming from, in a way.

Nikki: Yeah, really?.

Ayla: But that’s just me. I don’t think a lot of people will be on my side about it. Because you asked him many times to dance and he said no.
