Oh, how we love bragging rights in New England. Here’s another reason to pat ourselves on the back. A new study from Travel + Leisure ranked their readers’ favorite domestic airports. Brace yourself, because a New England airport has been voted tops in the country…

Congratulations to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport! They topped the T+L Top 10 list, voted on by the people who actually go to these airports. But wait, there’s more. Another New England airport made the top 10. See the entire list below to find out which ones were named the favorite domestic airports. If you’re traveling solo, you might want to stay right here as Massachusetts was recently named best state for solo travel! 

According to the article in Travel + Leisure, readers evaluated their favorite domestic airport. They mainly concentrated on things like ease in navigating the terminals, security lines, parking, and overall convenience. Airports were rated exclusively on the following:

  • Access
  • Check-in/security
  • Restaurants/bars
  • Shopping
  • Design

For each of the topics above readers were asked to choose a rating of excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor. The final scores you see below are averages of their responses. Find out more about the New England airport voted tops in the country.

  • 1. Manchester-Boston Regional

    Location: Manchester, New Hampshire

    Score: 85.31

    With comments like, “All the employees I encounter at MHT are knowledgeable and truly enjoy their job,” and “Security is a breeze, and the TSA agents are extremely professional,” it’s no wonder Manchester-Boston Regional scored so high. The airport is roughly 50 north of Boston and about 1.7 million passenger use MBR every year. Airlines that fly in an out of Manchester include, Southwest, American, United, Avelo and Spirit. Why is this airport so highly ranked? As one voter said, “Quickly became my absolute favorite airport; it’s nice and clean and so fast and easy to get in and out of,”
