Do you love where you live? Do you think your town should be on the “Best Places To Live in America” top 100 list? Mine didn’t make the cut and I think they missed a gem. Actually I think they missed many New England gems. Only 8 New England towns made the Top 100 Best Places To Live list that Livability recently released. Livability says “These 100 cities are welcoming, affordable and offer the space and opportunity to grow, both professionally and personally.”

So who in New England made the list?

• Newport, RI

  Newport just made the list coming in at #99 on the Top 100. Livability says “Residents in Newport are socially and civically engaged and have access to high-quality education, lively entertainment, beautiful scenery and never-ending seafood options.”

• Warwick, RI

  Warwick came in at #86 – “Warwick’s array of amenities coupled with a high-performing education system, quality health care and an engaged citizenry make this one of the best places to live in the U.S.”

• Portsmouth, NH

  Portsmouth is at #79 – Portsmouth “enjoys a low crime rate, a strong K-12 school system and easy access to Boston. Plus, those gorgeous harbor views make Portsmouth a great place to drop anchor.”

• Framingham, MA

  Framingham is next up on the list at #77 – “From urban living to suburban communities, residents have plenty of options to suit their lifestyles, and all offer easy access to parks, beaches and outdoor activities.”

• Worcester, MA

  Worcester came in at #75 – “Locals in Worcester have a shared love for the arts, and there’s always something to do, whether that’s checking out one of the many independent restaurants on Shrewsbury Street’s ‘Restaurant Row,’ catching a Broadway show at the Hanover Theatre or hiking to a waterfall at Cascade Falls.”

• Portland, ME

  A little further up the list is Portland at #62 – “Great schools, cute Victorian homes, a premier art museum and amazing seafood are some of the perks the 68,000-plus Portland residents enjoy.”

• Nashua, NH

  Nashua was named #51 Best Place To Live – “Thanks to the city’s collection of strong industries – retail, advanced manufacturing, health care, defense, information services and professional services – residents have a pool of great jobs to choose from, making it one of the best places to live in the U.S.”

• Quincy, MA
