Be careful what you wish for, I guess. We desperately needed the rain, and here it is. We’ve had so much rain over the past 24 hours that its causing major problems.

Yesterday’s rain created some major traffic issues, especially in Rhode Island. The flash flooding left cars and people stranded. The downpours even caused a roof to collapses.

This was the scene in Providence, as a stretch of I 95 was forced to shut down due to flooding.

WCVB reports that all this rain has led flash flooding in area and will continue today. In fact, a flood watch is in for most of massachusetts today. Some areas are expected to see 5-7 inches from this storm. The town under the flood watch include Boston, Cambridge, Quincy, Worcester, Springfield, Lowell, Lawrence, Fitchburg, Milford, Framingham, Brockton, Plymouth, Fall River, Taunton, Norwood, Milford, Foxboro, Gloucester, Ayer, Barre and Mattapoisett, according to WCVB.

Shiri Spear at Boston 25 warned this rain will continue through the early morning hours tomorrow. Today our patience on the roads will certainly be tested. So, why not just make a playlist and sing your heart out. I’m on it. Check out some of the best country songs about rain (in no particular order).

  • The Thunder Rolls- Garth Brooks

Once upon a time, there was a music video for “The Thunder Rolls.” According to Wide Open Country, “The song’s music video, which centers on an abusive husband, was extremely controversial. Brooks himself portrayed the husband in the clip, wearing a fake beard, glasses and a wig. Some networks, including CMT, wouldn’t even air it. According to a 1991 Entertainment Weekly article, radio stations around the country launched “Save the Video” petitions. Women’s shelters were also supportive of the song and video and viewed it as a tool for raising awareness of the true terrors of domestic violence.”  To this day, I still can’t find it online anywhere. So here’s a live version.
