Showcase Cinemas Holiday Classics are bringing some of your favorite holiday films back to the big screen this holiday season.
They even put out a fancy, festive press release. It reads, in part:
The annual “Holiday Classics” program offers movie-goers at select theaters *free admission* to two holiday movies at with a donation of a non-perishable food item, which will benefit local food pantries.
You know I’m a huge fan of combining good will with free stuff. Hell, I just last week wrote about two upcoming holiday benefit shows where you can donate toys and see great local rock. And you know I’m all about doing what I can to help feed the needy, especially around the holidays.
So yes, I’m on board with Showcase Cinemas giving us a free holiday flick for a canned good. The first free flick has come and gone, but on Saturday, December 10, you can bring a non-perishable food item to your local Showcase Cinemas for a screening of Scrooged. Make sure you use the pull-down menu and choose your preferred cinema for showtimes.

Showcase Cinemas also invites audiences to relive the joy, wonder and laughter of “Festive Favorites,” including Elf, Christmas Vacation, Polar Express, A Christmas Story and more!
Additionally, we’re thrilled to share It’s a Wonderful Life is returning to the select theaters, in celebration of the heart-warming masterpiece’s 75th anniversary.
I’ve shared the full list of films below, as well as the dates they’re screening. Sure, it’s fun and convenient to have access to a whole bunch of holiday movies on all of the streaming services we subscribe to. But there’s something magical about going to the movies during the holiday season. Take advantage if you can!
