It’s been four years since I last spotlighted singer/songwriter Sofia Lee Davis, and she’s still “singing and writing her heart out.” That’s the bio-line on her Instagram account. But she’s been up to so much more.

Now, a mother of 2 boys, Sofia has been working hard studying law while continue to make some phenomenal music. She will take the bar exam this summer. In the meantime, her personal take and on Jelly Roll’s “Save Me” is breaking the internet. There’s more on that and her story, below.

That Voice

Sofia Lee Davis’ soon to be released (April 5) single, “Going With Goodbye” only reminds me how special a singer she is. Perhaps it’s juxtaposition of the warmth in her tone and the ache in her conviction. Sofia has such a naturally honeyed quality to her voice and just the right amount of twang that showcase her authenticity. You can’t help but feel what she’s feeling because her delivery is so raw and genuine.

A beautiful voice can only take you so far. Having lyrics that connect is the glue to binding us together in humanity. Davis’ voice, as a vessel to carry her stories, is sailing smoothly through waters that can be rough in the business that is music. However, she is navigating her path, her way. There is a bright future on the horizon for Sofia Lee Davis.

    “Going With Goodbye”

Sofia shared what her latest release is all about: “Going with Goodbye is a ballad about learning to love someone from a distance, even when you don’t want to let them go. And a plea for a hopeful future, that someday ‘someone will come along, the one who’s meant for me.'”
