Junk Food. It’s many of our Achille’s heels. What’s your top 3? I’ll go with: Little Debby Nutty Buddy Bars, BBQ Fritos, and all of the sour candy.

While junk food can be pretty tasty, pretty enjoyable, and paired with a comfy couch and a TV binge hit list gets us through some of life’s rough patches, junk food typically includes high-calorie, sugary, and processed foods, has been linked to the rising obesity rates in the United States. According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), around 42.4% of U.S. adults are considered obese. Still – junk foods are purchased and consumed at a breakneck clip, in fact the average American household reportedly spends 10% of its daily income on fast food.

So for better or worse, we have a bit of an obsession with junk foods. Hopefully we all can find a proper balance between the junk and what’s good for us so we can keep enjoying both for years to come without any negative health implications.

The team at Casinos.com wanted to find out what America’s favorite snack food is, each US state separately too. They left out fast food restaurants and sugary drinks and sodas but all other junk foods were considered in their research.

In the end they determined that Sour Patch Kids are the nation’s favorite junk food. And Kit Kat is America’s favorite chocolate bar. (Animal Crackers are surprisingly very popular in New England as you’ll see. Love them!)

As for the state-by-state breakdown? We’ll link to the entire country’s junk food results at the end of this article but first, let’s give you each New England state and their 3 Favorite Junk Foods. Do you match your state’s picks better than I did? And can I get a little air high five for Little Debby Nutty Bars? *clap* That was nice. Debby got all choked up, I’m sure.
