It’s a good news bad news situation. Good news first: Car thefts in Massachusetts are down, by nearly 40% since 2011. The bad news: The most frequently stolen car is hugely popular. So chances of this car being owned by you, or someone you know, are pretty high.

The most stolen car in Massachusetts in not a fancy car, and the same with our other New England states. So BMWs, Teslas and Mercedes are off the list. The most stolen car is a basic, fuet efficienct sedan. According to Quote Wizard (a car insurance quote website), the popular Honda Accord is the car most frequently swiped from the streets of Mass. The moral of the story: People will risk prison for a dependable ride.
