It only took a few seconds for all four judges to turn their chairs in the season premier of The Voice last night. The contestant on stage for the first blind audtition of season 22 is a former Boston resident. Now a Nashvillian, Morgan Myles took the mic and took command of the stage. She belted out a beautifully powerful version of “Hallelujah.” In fact, she only sang a few notes before Gwen Stefani and Camila Cabello turned their signature red chairs to signal they wanted Morgan on their team.
It’s been quite a journey for Myles, who has spent the last 16 years in Nashville trying to be heard. She told John Legend last night, ““I’ve been touring, I’m a demo singer for a lot of people, I even opened some festivals for Blake (Shelton). It’s been a long journey. It hasn’t been easy.” It wasn’t easy for her to choose her coach either, with all 4 pleading with her to be on their team. Who’s team did Morgan eventually decide on? Watch below! Also, find out what her Boston connection is, below!
