I love a good mascot. I love even more a bizarre mascot. The kind of mascot that when it runs out onto the court to rally the crowd you're like "what the heck is that?" I personally love mascots so much I actually tried out to be a minor league baseball team's mascot. I would have been The Lake Monster in Vermont had I not ended up as 1st runner up in the tryouts - I'm still bitter. Anyway - that makes me the perfect person to name the Top 10 Most Unique (And Therefore Best) Massachusetts High School Mascots. Also, in advance, I didn't do a ton of research about the origin stories of these names so if I miss something obvious, forgive me, I just like fun mascots. OK, let's go!

#10 - Ashland Clockers

It's like that old cartoon character Johnny Bravo had a baby with a clock... and I love it!

#9 - Greater Lawrence Tech Reggies

I mean, Reggie must have been a hell of a dude to get a school's mascot named after him. Reggie Miller? Reggie Jackson? Reggie Beas? All great Reggies and fine choices for your mascot.

#8 - Milbury Woolies

That's one bad@$$ lamb... who still needs to be sheered... for it's wool. I hope you can get a really great winter hat at the merch stand.

#7 - Arlington Spy Ponders

Spy Pond in Arlington was originally known as Spie Pond but I love the spelling change - it's much more mysterious... and makes for an amazingly unique mascot name. It just sounds cool.

#6 - Duxbury Dragons

Speaking of cool - who doesn't love dragons?!? When you take on Duxbury, you're getting Game of Throned.

#5 - Salem Witches

I would want nothing else for Salem's mascot. It's obvious and perfect. Also if you beat them you're probably getting a spell put on you using an eye of newt.

#4 - Westford Academy Grey Ghosts

From the Witches to the Grey Ghosts. I love Halloween.

#3 - Gloucester Fishermen

I love Halloween. I also love fishing. And I love that fishermen are getting the respect they deserve in Gloucester.

#2 - Lenox Millionaires

Do I really need to say anything? This mascot is quite literally money. It would have been #1 - BUT - money isn't everything. Oh yeah... a life lesson in this silly countdown.

#1 - Marblehead Magicians

Coolest... mascot... ever. The halftime shows must be killer.
