Tyler was inspired to purse a music career growing up in Georgia, where the church gave him a musical outlet. He became a youth worship leader in his hometown. In college, at Belmont University in Nashville, he continued to be involved in a worship group. It was at the campus worship group where he met Brian Kelly from Florida, who would become his longtime bandmate.
