The exterior of TD Garden from Causeway St. in Boston

TD Garden is one of Boston’s premiere venues, between concerts and obviously sporting events. It’s known for hosting some of the biggest names in music. Whether you’re heading there to see a sold-out show or catching your favorite artist for the first time, a little planning can make your concert experience at the Garden even better. Here’s everything you need to know before you go!

  • 🚗 Parking

If you’re driving to TD Garden, there are a number of parking options nearby, but you should know that spots fill up pretty fast, especially on event nights.

    • North Station Garage – located directly underneath the Garden. It is definitely a convenient option but can be pricy on event nights.
    • Government Center Garage – it’s about a 10 minute walk from the Garden, a bit more affordable.

Pro Tip: Find a parking app for your phone that will allow you to book your parking spot and guarantee a space, and even save you some money.

  • 🚆 Public Transportation

A great way to avoid the hassle of parking is by taking the MBTA! It’s a great time to do so, because North Station is right underneath the Garden, so it’s one of the easiest venues to reach by public transportation.

    • Subway (“The T”) – you can take the orange or green line to North Station.
    • Commuter Rail – North Station is connected to multiple commuter rail lines.
    • Bus – there are several MBTA bus routes near the Garden. Check the MBTA website for schedules.
  • 🍽️ Dining Near The Venue

If you’d like to grab a bite to eat before or after the show, here are some great spots within walking distance for you to check out.

    • The Harp – a great sports bar with burgers, wings, beer, etc.
    • West End Johnnies – a local favorite with Southern-inspired food and live music.

Pro Tip: Make a reservation if possible, concert nights and sporting event nights can get busy!

  • 🎶 Concert Tips

Here are a few pointers to help maximize your concert experience!

    • Arrive Early – doors usually open about 60-90 minutes before the show. Make sure you give yourself some time to get through the security checkpoint and find your seat!
    • Check The Bag Policy – make sure you check the venue’s website for their most up-to-date policies surrounding what you can bring into the venue.
    • Stay Hydrated – not just so you don’t pass out, but so your voice isn’t gone after screaming songs all night!
