Holly the black Labrador retriever has an unusual obsession. She loves one dollar bills! The New York pup’s owner Casi Cook noticed an ongoing issue with her cash, like the fact that it kept disappearing.

About Holly, Cook told the Dodo, “She was a thief, just like any puppy. She used to steal stuff out of all our bags, including money, and instead of chasing her around the house we would kind of bribe her with treats”. She continued to say, “so when she had money in her mouth we didn’t want her to eat it so we would say, ‘Here Holly, take the treat and give me the money,’ so it clicked in her head, if she has the money, she will get treats.”

Genius Dog Learns How to Collect Cash So She Can Pay for Her Treats All By Herself

Holly is a modern woman. This 5-year-old black Lab has a trick that all other canines should pay attention to: Holly has learned how to pay for her own treats all by herself. Holly's love for cold hard cash started early, so her pet parent had to get a little creative.

Smart dog! Holly’s owner works in a restaurant, so she is never short of dollar bills. The lucky puppy is always getting a treat in exchange for giving her owner back her stolen money!

As we are sure you are wondering, the owners do not let the dollar bills in her mouth for too long. They understand that money is dirty and noted that the dog has never had any health issues due to the cash.

For now, Cook notes that they will continue to keep two containers in the kitchen that work as a doggy version of a piggy bank. Make it rain, Holly!
