Columbia Gas Just Released A Statement To The Public
Columbia Gas has released a statement — Nearly five hours after the initial explosion occurred.
Crews are still working on gas lines, after explosions and fires broke out at nearly 70 residences.
According to CBS Local, the gas company said their priority right now is the safety of their customers.
They wanted to ensure the community they are working with first responders to secure the area and repair the lines.
While the statement did not disclose what may have caused the chaos, undoubtedly, this was an attempt to calm the public.
Columbia Gas also reiterated that customers should evacuate if they smell natural gas and phone 9-1-1 immediately.
Meanwhile, Congressman Seth Moulton, who surveyed the damage, said it resembled a war zone.
