Catch Of The Week: Brianna Grace
Meet: Brianna Grace from Middleboro
There wasn’t a time Brianna remembers when music wasn’t a part of life. She says, “music was always a huge part of our lives. I also think it was just…within me.” At the age of 2, she would run around the house with a toy microphone. By 4 she was dragging her dad’s old Yamaha acoustic guitar out of the closet to play. Lessons began around 9 years old. And Grace stepped into the recording studio for the first time at just 11.
Brianna’s dedication is obvious. She spends much of her free time writing and perfecting her craft. Her lyrics are thoughtful, sometimes edgy, and she has trained her voice to suit those lyrics perfectly. Delivering her message clearly and powerfully, even when her vocals are purposely subtle. Brianna describes her sound as country with an edge. And that pretty much hits the nail on the head.

*Instruments played: Guitar, Piano
*How would you describe your sound: Country with an edge.
* Who inspires you: A range of country artists old and new for their commitment and the way they present themselves and manage their careers (Garth Brooks, Thomas Rhett, Maren Morris, Martina McBride…). Also, my fellow local/indie artists who are constantly grinding and making it work all on their own- playing every different role on stage and behind the scenes.
*All- time favorite country song: (or songs if you can’t name just one): I’m the type who can NEVER successfully answer these types of questions. But I love “The Dance” by Garth Brooks for a very specific reason.
*Favorite country concert: As far as ones that I have attended- probably Garth Brooks. Or Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now” tour.
*What songs do you like now on Country 102.5: “Rich”- Maren Morris, “Drunk Girl”- Chris Janson
*If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing: I would either be working within the marketing or management sectors of the music business, or I would be doing something creative like event planning/management or interior design.
*Most proud moment: Playing for children as well as adult patients in hospitals, as well as aiding in the process of bringing the Musicians on Call program to Boston. Also.. one specific moment when a mother and her little boy approached me crying after I played my song about a long distance military relationship. She explained to me how her husband was overseas and she thanked me for writing the song.
*Craziest thing that ever happened in your music career: It’s hard to think of a “crazy” moment, per say… but recently I did have someone ask me if I was “THE Brianna Grace.” That was pretty surprising!
*Other things you like to do: Hiking, interior decorating, hang out with my German Shepherd, travel, go to car shows, and dance.
*Name at least 3 frivolous fun facts about you (Like unusual talents or likes):
1) I’m kind of a gear head.
2) I can make a clover with my tongue.
3) I am queen of making To-Do lists.
