[WATCH] Live From Beaches Negril Resort & Spa With Marissa!
When you are asked if you want to work from Jamaica for a few days, the answer is quick, simple and one word: YES!
I’m someone who hasn’t traveled a ton and honestly, hasn’t truly been off the East Coast of the US, so having the opportunity to head to Negril has been a blessing. I packed my bag, unknowing really what to expect. Even with a slight itinerary of events, it’s hard to know if you’ve got everything you need. But, what I’ve learned so far in my day and half here at Beaches Negril: go with the flow, “Don’t worry, mon” and just enjoy the sunshine.
Our first night on the resort included a Glow Party filed with drinks, appetizers, a DJ spinning the the most amazing reggae and dancing along the Carribean water, right on the beach. What a peaceful backdrop, to fun filled night! Also, the firebreathers show was something else! (Kids, don’t try this at home!) I can’t hula on a normal day and if you lit it on fire, I definitely wouldn’t be able to handle it.
After a good nights sleep, I dove in to the largest breakfast buffet there ever could be at The Mill. The Global Gormet Dining is unreal! Anything your heart desires is at your finger tips. From the freshest fruits of Jamaica, to eggs cooked to order, delicious french toast and chocolate chip pancakes, to an array of cereals and sides. Tummy, full.
We headed out of the resort on our first full day to Jam West Adventure Park. It’s a well known drag racing park in, not only Negril, but the world! Also on site are many different activities to take in. Anyone that knows me knows I LOVE animals, so I picked the Safari Jeep Tour and Horseback Riding.
On the Safari Jeep Tour we saw some of the coolest animals and reptiles indigenous to Jamaica. Did you know that crocodiles will sit still ALL DAY if they feel threatened? They don’t move an inch! It was so crazy to see! I also had the opportunity to hang out in the Aviary where birds fly right down and eat out of your hand. Absolutely made my day.
From there we headed out for horseback riding. My beautiful ponies name was Princess and a princess she truly is. They taught us all how to handle the straps and walked us to the ocean where they guided each horse around as we could only see water for as far as the eye could see. Beautiful and majestic are the only words that can fully explain the experience.
We had so many delicious meals and fun times the rest of the night before resting our heads, and still SO MUCH more to come! I’ll share more soon, in the meantime be watching our social for updates throughout our days at Beaches Negril! (@Country1025WKLB ad @1025Marissa)
