[PHOTO & VIDEO] What It’s Like To Go VIP To A Kelly Clarkson Concert
From the moment she opened her mouth in her original American Idol audition in 2002, I’ve been a stupid huge fan of Kelly Clarkson. I mean, it’s really hard to NOT be a Kelly Clarkson fan. Between her silly, fun personality and the pipes that could sing anything and I’d listen, she’s really is the whole package.
I’ve had the opportunity to see her a lot over the years, including the original American Idol tour after the show skyrocketed in popularity. After she released her debut album, “Thankful,” I saw her at the New York State fair, which happened to be the day of the Northeast blackout of 2003. I’ll never forget the fair not being able to operate, but the concert still happening due to backup generators. Such a cool experience.
Along with all the shows I’ve been to, I’ve had the chance to meet her a few times, as well and she is seriously the sweetest. What you see on television is exactly how she is in person.
On Friday, as I headed to Mohegan Sun I knew I was in for an amazing concert, but I had been given “VIP,” as well. I’ve never been in a Kelly Clarkson VIP…what does that include?
I checked in and headed to the VIP Lounge upstairs. When I walked in the first thing I saw was like an exhibit out of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. It was so cool! All the Grammys, AMAs, the ACM she won with Jason Aldean and more. Plus, the outfits. I spotted the one dress right away: American Idol, 2002, performance: Stuff Like That There. It was one of my favorite performances of the season. It was awesome to see all of it in person.
Next to witness, off in the right corner with a spotlight to showcase it and give a once in a lifetime photo-op: The Voice chair!
They also had “Kelly-oake” setup for fans to sing, a cash bar and appetizers. Overall a very relaxed experience to take in and one I know I’ll never forget. Check out parts of the concert below:
