Celtics To Take On Bucks In Playoff Rematch!
Last playoff season, it was a best of seven between the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks in Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs. We know how that worked out: we advanced! Will it be the same result this season?
The biggest difference is that we’re meeting up in Round 2. There’s even more on the line. Whoever advances is only one round away from the big game. One step closer to banner 18 for our Celtics.
We’ve had a fairly up and down season. At times having major blowout wins (remember that game back in December against the Chicago Bulls? We won by 56!) They also broke a franchise record for the most 3-pointers in a season at the beginning of April (986 for the season.) Five of their players have over 100 3-pointers each for the season (Kyrie Irving, Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum, Marcus Morris, and Terry Rozier.) All positives, but in other times, it’s been rocky. Losing major leads, bad press/attitude with Kyrie that effected the team play, forcing 3’s in clinch moments. etc.
But, then we entered the playoff season. Things seemed to change and click into place. The team play has been there. Working together is important all the time, but even more so as more becomes at stake. Gordon Hayward has seemed to regain his confidence and find his groove. Our team is back! And I’m not gonna lie, it felt pretty good to watch our boys be the first in the NBA to advance to the next round.
Now, we get ready to take on the Bucks who are the Number One seeded team in the Eastern Conference. They’ve had a killer season with star player Giannis Antetokounmpo. There are a couple ways to look at what’s to come: Sure, we took ’em in seven last season and were lacking Hayward and Irving, who were injured last playoff season. But, have we played better with them thus far? It seemed to shake up the team play on and off all season. Have the Bucks just gotten better this season? That’s always possible.
The schedule for Round 2 has yet to be released, but hopefully our Celtics are using this time wisely to rest up and get in some good team practices.
