Drew Barrymore Lands Daytime Talk Show
Drew Barrymore is getting her own syndicated talk show on CBS in 2020 which marks the first daytime syndicated talk show for CBS in a very long time! In 2016 she began pitching for a syndicated show but it never moved forward. Another show that’s been announced in 2020 is one headlined by Nick Cannon, but it is unclear what station that will be on.

Brett Young is enjoying a break from touring and will be taking an entire month off as he and his wife expect the delivery of their first child. She is due any second now so he says by taking the entire month off, he can devote time to just enjoying family life.
CMT revealed the list of performers and presenters for its 2019 Artists of the Year ceremony, which will air on October 16th. The 90 minute special will honor Artist of the Year recipients Carrie Underwood, Dan + Shay, Luke Combs, Kane Brown and Thomas Rhett. Carrie, Dan+Shay, Thomas Rhett and more will perform, as well as Chrissy Metz, who will perform a song on behalf of Luke Combs. If you don’t know who she is, she’s the This is Us star who teased that she will be recording a very country influenced album. Also at the ceremony, Vince Gill will present Reba with the award for Artist of a Lifetime!
Dolly Parton told Elle Magazine that she’s considered Reese Witherspoon and Scarlett Johansson playing her in a Dolly Parton biopic. Dolly hasn’t offered a timeline or any details as to whether she might actually be working on movie about her own life but lately she’s been moving more into the movie producing world. Her last movie was Dumplin on Netflix starring Jennifer Aniston.
Cambridge native Mindy Kaling who got her big break as an actress, writer and producer for her work on The Office is now saying that her name was almost left out of the Emmy nomination due to humiliating efforts by the Television Academy! She told Elle Magazine that the organization contacted her saying that her name would be dropped from the nomination because there were too many producers listed for the show. She explained that she “had to get letters from all [her] other white male producers saying that [she] had contributed, when [her] actual record stood for itself.”
