Army Dad Surprises His Kids At Local Elementary School
Ayla Here!
Yesterday was a special day for a family in Weymouth. Let me paint the picture. A brother and sister, ages 5 and 7 who attend Frederick Murphy Elementary School were given an award on stage by their teachers in the little gymnasium for three simple things. “Patience, endurance and tolerance.”But the true prize was what was waiting behind the curtain…
Out appeared their father, Sergeant First Class Steven Bellows who had been serving in Kuwait for an entire year. First of all these videos make me cry every time I watch them. I saw the footage of this, this morning. Sargent First Class Bellos said “I love being home. It’s great to be with my kids and my family. Waited a really long time for it, so just really nice to be home.”
The school’s principle says that they’ve never done anything like that before and it was a fantastic way to support our military heroes and that they did….after the two kids hugged their dad for the first time in a year, the entire class started singing.
