Stop & Shop Announces Exclusive Hours For Customers 60 and Older
Stop & Shop is extending it’s hours exclusively for it’s older customers starting Thursday, March 19th.
The New England-based supermarket giant announced that stores will open daily at 6am, and the first hour and a half will be for those 60 years of age or older to get their grocery shopping done.
“We’re making the decision to offer this every day of the week to allow for community members in this age category to shop in a less crowded environment, which better enables social distancing,” Gordon Reid, president of Stop & Shop said in a statement. “They’ll also be shopping prior to any other customers entering.”
More than ever, it’s important we come together as a community to serve those in need, including advocating for our seniors. Beginning 3/19, all Stop & Shop stores will open earlier from 6:00AM-7:30AM daily to serve customers who are age 60 and over only. https://t.co/qmZhPUnlpJ

“Although we will not be requesting ID for entry, we ask that you please respect the purpose of the early opening – and do the right thing for your neighbors,” the statement explained. “Store associates do reserve the right to ask customers to leave if they are not a member of this age group.”
